TERMS & CONDITIONS

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services, programmes, workshops, courses, events, and online content provided by Film Steps (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or participating in our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Eligibility

Our services are intended for children, young people, and families.
A parent or legal guardian must complete all bookings for participants under 18 and is responsible for providing accurate information.

We reserve the right to refuse participation where safety, safeguarding, behavioural, or operational concerns arise.

Bookings and Registration

Bookings must be completed through our website.

By submitting a booking, you confirm that you are legally authorised to register the participant, the information provided is accurate, and you agree to pay all applicable fees.
We may accept or refuse bookings at our discretion.

Payments

All fees must be paid in line with the prices shown at the time of booking.

We are not responsible for delays or fees charged by your bank or payment provider.

Cancellations, Transfers, and Refunds

If you need to cancel a booking, you must notify us in writing. Refund eligibility may depend on how much notice is given and may include an administration fee.

Cancellations made close to the start date of a programme may not be eligible for a refund.
Transfers to an alternative session or programme may be offered, subject to availability.

If we cancel a session or programme, you will be offered either a replacement session or a refund for the affected portion.
We cannot offer refunds for circumstances beyond our control, such as illness, travel disruption, or events classified as force majeure.

Behaviour and Conduct

Participants must behave respectfully and safely at all times.
We reserve the right to remove a participant from an activity, or decline future participation, if their behaviour places themselves or others at risk, disrupts activities, or raises safeguarding concerns.

Refunds may not be available in such cases.

Health, Safety, and Medical Information

Parents and guardians must disclose any relevant medical, access, allergy, or safeguarding information to ensure the safe delivery of our activities.

We rely on the accuracy of this information.
If a participant becomes ill or injured, we may administer basic first aid or contact emergency services. By booking, you consent to this approach.

Safeguarding

We are committed to maintaining high safeguarding standards.
All staff follow appropriate policies and training for working with children.

We may share relevant information with safeguarding authorities, emergency services, or venue partners when necessary to protect a child or fulfil legal requirements.

Use of Media (Images, Video, Audio)

As part of our creative and filmmaking activities, we may capture photographs, audio recordings, and video footage of participants.

Public use of media requires explicit parental or guardian consent.
If consent is not granted, we will make reasonable efforts to offer alternative, non-filmed roles.

Media that has already been published cannot always be removed or withdrawn once released.

Intellectual Property

All programme materials, creative outputs, films, photographs, audio recordings, branding elements, and teaching resources remain the intellectual property of Film Steps unless otherwise stated.

Participants and customers may not copy, distribute, reproduce, or commercially exploit any materials without our written permission.

Participation in a film or project does not grant ownership rights over the final creative work.

Customer Responsibilities

Parents or guardians must ensure that participants arrive and are collected on time, follow staff instructions, and bring any required clothing or personal items.

We cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost or damaged during our activities.

Liability

We hold appropriate insurance for the services we provide.

We are not responsible for loss of personal property, injuries resulting from failure to follow instructions, issues related to third-party venue providers, or events beyond our reasonable control.

These Terms do not exclude liability for death or serious injury resulting from our negligence.

Digital Accounts and Online Services (If Applicable)

If you access digital content or online sessions through an account we provide, you are responsible for keeping login details secure and ensuring children use the platform safely.

We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to online services or platforms.

Privacy and Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with the UK and EU GDPR.

Our Privacy Policy explains the data we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and the rights you have.
By using our services, you agree to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to Services

We may update, modify, or adjust services as needed, including altering course content, activities, schedules, or locations.
Reasonable notice will be provided where possible.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically.
The latest version will always be available on our website, and continued use of our services indicates agreement to the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales (or the relevant jurisdiction where the services are delivered).
Any disputes will be resolved by the courts of that jurisdiction.
